The road to the British throne is a complicated one, even if you are the daughter of the future King of England.

Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, the daughter of Prince William and Catherine, is fourth in line to the British monarchy in the order of succession, preceded by only Queen Elizabeth II’s son Prince Charles, his son, Prince William, and her older brother, Prince George. But just because she was born in close proximity to the throne doesn’t mean she’ll ever get to take the seat of power herself.
